Creating wealth from bio-resources

µ-BioRefinery™ IP is founded on DalinYebo (Xhosa: Wealth Creation) and GreenEnergyPark™ know-how, which extends beyond the technology aspects. In additon, our team is supported by an extensive global network of specialists and is totally familiar with all three components of the µ-BioRefinery™:

Micro

For years we have operated pilot plants, situated at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. We have scaled-up processes and managed designs of multi-disciplinary projects. For the µ-BioRefinery™ we make use of this know-how to scale-down industrial size processes, by making use of reverse-engineering principles.

Bio

The only consistency of biomass is its inconsistency. For each project, we evaluate the biomass and its seasonal changes and determin the integration of future feedstocks or rotational crops. We work with farmers, plant breeders and plant-pathologists, so that we ensure that our work results in projects that will still be sustainable for generations to come.

Ref..

..ining (also called affining) is the process of purification of a (1) substance or a (2) form. The term is usually used of a natural resource that is almost in a usable form, but which is more useful in its pure form .. (from wikipedia). The essential technical challenge facing us, and the world in general, is the complete beneficiation of cellulosic material. We strive to provide viable and practical solution. Our background and access to inventions and developments give us the tools for smart implementation of industrial processes to convert bio-resources into energy and chemicals. In the first instance we focus on the Complete Conversion of Carbon to Commercial Chemicals, aka ‘C5 and energy. C5 infers using all the organic components of agricultural by-products or crops, such as sugars, cellulose, hemi-cellulose and lignin and metabolites derived therefrom to produce chemicals through unit processes that it will invent or apply. Only the remaining residue from such process will be converted to energy (steam/electricity).
